Right time for MBA preparation?

if i want to pursue MBA and go for CAT is it advisable to directly from college or have some job experience under my belt. If former then whats the time to start the studies for CAT. I am currently entering my 3rd year ( the most hectic one of the BITS-Pilani curriculum).
