Should I get a shag haircut if I have curly hair?

My hair is relatively curly (it goes a bit ringlet-y sometimes), but I'm keen on getting a shag cut (kinda like the one in this photo: a href="http://www.seagullhair.com/Hair-Salon-NYC/files/gimgs/3_wavy-haircut-bangs-curly-shag-nyc.jpg)." rel="nofollow"http://www.seagullhair.com/Hair-Salon-NY…/a Would it be a good idea to get one? I'd love to get a fringe, but I'm a little worried about how well it'd turn out seeing as I have my curly hair to contend with. My hair is very similar to that in the pic, except mine is a little curlier and a light auburn colour. I also have a rectangular face shape, with quite a strong jawline. Anyone got any suggestions? :)
