If my wireless signal strength shows all the bars could i still need extra antenna power?

my computer is acting slow yet the bars are full. its not the modem for i have tried it directly. whether is wired/wireless (the router not the modem) the internet still acts slow on several devices. Will antennas improve what seems to be a signal drop? Pages don't load completely pictures are broken. i have no idea.
