I've met a lot of players and need advice?

So here's the thing, I've been in the dating game for a long time now and have gotten a lot of players, and I noticed that there are two different types 1.The ones that directly ask you for sex, and 2.The ones that take you out on dates but in the end were still only after sex, so it is the 2nd type of player that has got me confused, because I am unable to detect if he is taking me out on dates because he likes me or because he just wants sex. So my question is how will I know if I am being played before it's too late? Is there something specific to look out for? What makes a guy fall in love with a girl? The reason I ask this is important because I understand how guys can have sex and not be in love but then what makes a guy fall in love with a particular girl? The 2nd type of player has put me off dating and I'm scared to go out there again and give someone a chance. I would like some answers from men, also women but men more. :-) thank you
