Why do people tell me to straighten my hair?!?

I have curly hair, (not super curly, just reaaaally wavy, with some ringlets) and quite a few people love it and compliment it and stuff, but lately some people are all like "You should straighten your hair! Can I straighten it for you?" "Oh, you should get it chemically straightened." Like it's just a fact that curly hair is bad or something...but whatever, I know some of them aren't saying it to be mean or anything, but I just feel like saying f*ck off. It's my hair, I like it. Why do these people keep going on about it??
