Hair trouble!! Please help!?

I have really curly hair and VERY thick hair too. I need some way to manage it wheather it's cutting it, new products, or hair styles. I have tries cutting it short but that does NOT work, I can't seem to grow it out long though because it always curls up in ringlet things. I have tried many different products but they don't seem to work. Please please help!!! Thanks!!
