Is my Grandpa's advice on compliments correct? What do you think?

Your grandpa sounds like a wise man! And I think there is a lot of truth to what he's saying. I remember once, I went on a date with a guy I had met a couple of times before and he said 'you look lovely'. I mean, if he liked you enough to ask you on a date, then there would be something about you that he was attracted to. We don't expect compliments, but they're very welcome! The date you went on seemed more like a job interview! If you have to go through that, rather than getting to know each other in a non-confrontational way, then it didn't sound like a potential relationship worth your time. I think any guy, regardless of shyness, will pay a girl a compliment if he's really interested. So, listen to your grandpa, I think he's right!
